This song was primarily written to use two lines that had been stuck in my head (the victims and disappointment bits). The victims line was something I said to my boss one day, and while he seemed a little taken aback by the comment I was overjoyed at what was clearly a brilliant lyric. Just before releasing this collection I thought this might be a Uke Skywalker song (and thus ineligible for inclusion) but decided against it because I don't want to learn how to play this on a ukulele.

lyrics
Welcome to my world.'
If you can survive
through the maze of my mind
I'll let you in on a secret
your best days haven't happened yet
come along
follow me
I'll show you things
you'll never see
you think you had it rough? well, the victim is me
she said 'there are no victims, only opportunities'
Don't you be afraid it's only a monster
coming out from inside your closet
to cut you open and eat your flesh
he'll keep your eyes and he'll sell the rest
If you can survive
the terrors of everyday life
you will be rewarded then
a special knowledge there at the end
you have known
all along
there is no mourning
before the dawn
I know you've had it rough, but listen to this
if you look for disappointment you'll never get it
Don't you be afraid it's only a monster
coming out from inside your closet
to cut you open and eat your flesh
he'll keep your eyes and he'll sell the rest

If for nothing else, get this for the song "Snow." It kicks my ass every time I listen to it. It is everything I want to do as a songwriter. Planga-La Laboratories
